CORE MOTORSPORTS AND THE RACE FOR
KIDS FOUNDATION TEAM WITH CLINT MEARS IN THE NASCAR WINSTON WEST SERIES HOME
DEPOT “300”
El Cajon, CA****
Core Motorsports announces that Clint Mears, son of
legendary Rick Mears, four-time
Indy winner, will race the team’s number 82 NASCAR Winston West Series car at
Irwindale Speedway, November 11.
“This
is Clint’s second start in a Winston West car, we were here in June
and Clint was running strong until we cut down a tire and were unable to
finish, we are hoping for a better finish this time,” says Steve Lucore, owner
of Core Motorsports.
This
may be Clint Mear’s second time competing in a stock car, but he
has been making his mark on the racing circuit since 1993, when he began his
career in open wheel competition, winning five races.
Moving up to the Indy Lights circuit, Mears won his first race in only
his sixth start. “Last time here
at Irwindale, I could take the car high and low on the racetrack, I can’t wait
to get out there,” says Mears.
The
